How to Raise Taxes

Did you know that when a city comes under a budget crunch, the first thing the mayor cuts is highly visible programs like trash removal and education? Why? Because that way the people will agree to higher taxes. It’s highly unethical to cut the most important programs while keeping pet projects and special interests’ programs fully funded. Yet, this is what’s happening in Tucson now.  Why would we agree to higher taxes if the projects being cut were unimportant in the grand scheme of things?

You won’t get this kind of misdirection from me. It’s time to stop funding the wrong things and start funding our future.  It’s time for a sensible balanced budget that meets the people’s needs.
